Alan received his BSc (Hons) - Psychology from the University of East London, an M.A. - Experimental Psychology from the University of Arkansas and a M.Ed from the Nanyang Technological University (NIE). In addition he also holds a Specialist Diploma in Counseling and Guidance from Temasek Polytechnic and a Post Graduate Diploma in Solution Focused Brief Therapy awarded by Brief Family Therapy Centre. 

Alan has lectured at Temasek Polytechnic, Australian College of Applied Psychology and develop programs for private institutions running psychological related courses. Alan is also an appointed Family Life Ambassador (MCYS). He has recently joined NTU as a Staff Counsellor.

Alan is also a Registered Counsellor with the Singapore Association of Counselling.
